Personality
Loud | Sarcastic | Overthinking | Protective | Friendly | Moody | Zero Chill | Active
Amelia aims to be as friendly as she possibly can and put out good, chilled out vibes. She really just wants to appear and act in the most positive way that she can and is almost always questioning herself is she's actually behaving well and making sure she's not acting rudely. Unfortunately she sometimes just can't repress all of her comments and some things will just slip out before she can stop herself.
She'll often find herself leaving a room if something has gotten to her, or even pissed her off. She doesn't really deem it 'worth it' in case she gets involved in a physical confrontation, even if she's right to be angry. Nobody would be happy if she were to get aggressive.
Her family frequently make jokes about just how Irish she is with her temper and the volume of her voice. Her loud and boisterous behaviors might even be a little annoying to some people but, really, she doesn't pay much mind to those who do. If anything she might even make herself act out even more, just to prove that she could be worse.
Although she tries very hard to keep her temper in check, and she mostly succeeds, she can't hold it down well at all if people she cares about or loves are put into dangerous situations. At that point she'll probably explode with anger.
Amelias job has her almost constantly on the move, always busy and doing something. Usually her nights are filled with sketching and completing art for upcoming tattoo clients. There's a constant element of movement to the woman, she just can't stop herself from doing things that she deems as 'needed'.

Personal History
Amelia grew up in rural Ireland with her extremely large family. Together they all lived in the old family home and it was heavily crowded with aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents. Until the age of 14, she and her two sisters shared a single room, which none of the three were happy with, but with little choice and very few free space in the house they had to deal with it. Unfortunately this would still lead to loud arguments between the girls.
Of course such a loud, boisterous house would lead to raising loud, boisterous children and Amelia was no exception but a house like that didn't really leave any room for a child to express their creative side. Luck was on Amelias side at least as a kid, and she was very good at finding small, pokey rooms in the old and crumbling family home. This was where she did her 'work', finding herself drawing and practicing her handwriting for hours on end. Of course, eventually she could still be found throwing herself around with her family.
At 14 years old her parents announced that their smaller family unit would be moving to America. So she and her parents and siblings left her family home. She, of course, was sad to leave all of her drawings behind in her secret little spaces but she would comfort herself with the idea that she could still make more in her new home.
Unfortunately once they got to America she found that it wouldn't be so easy to fit in as she had hoped it would be. Her voice, high and childish mixed with her accent made her a large, and rather perfect target for bullying. It was just bad for her tormentors that she wasn't the type to just sit down and take the bullying. Amelia would use harsh words and violet language. She was well learnt from her family after all.
As the years continued on, she could only get worse and worse, her words morphing into physical violence. Eventually her behavior would lead to her being suspended from school. She didn't actually mind this either, it freed up her time to pursue her art skills. Which had steadily improved over the years. It was just after her suspension ended that she had to take a good long look at herself. She'd gotten into an argument with her brother and as she'd moved he'd flinched and taken a step away from her. It had been a harsh realization. She'd gone to her parents after, asking if she really was as bad as she'd thought. They hadn't been able to tell her.
They'd taken steps afterwards to find ways that she could be helped, but eventually they came to the conclusion that they really just couldn't afford to get her the help she needed in America. So the 17 year old was shipped off back to Ireland, where help would be more easily accessible. A lot of her therapy would come to include her art and use it as a way to keep herself calm and centered.
As it was, at first it didn't seem to be helping her out at all. Her childhood home had changed a lot in the three years that she hadn't been there. Most of her family had moved out into their own homes and it was just her and her grandparents in the massive place. It made her more than a little anxious. Eventually she seemed to start calming though, and bettering herself. Even becoming more excepting of who she was. She was too big for her pokey little rooms anymore, but she was able to enlist a younger cousin to crawl in and bring out old pages, after they came back from church one sunday.
While back in Ireland she came to fall in love with a very particular type of show, Tattoo Fixers being her favorite. This was the first thing that lead her to what she would do for the rest of her life. Once she hit 18 she started an apprenticeship in a fairly popular tattoo parlor. Art was obviously her best coping mechanism, so doing it everyday, and it effecting other people? Well, what more could she ask for? Over the next five years she threw herself into it, all of her time was dedicated to bettering her work and improving herself.
Each time she hit one of her own set goals she commemorated the occasion by getting a tattoo of her own. Just to show how far she had managed to come and once she'd hit her 'final goal' she set off back to America, at least to see her close family, if not to move back in with them. With her anger under her control, if not just a little suppressed she thought that she would be okay being away from her councilor. So coming out of her 5th year of her apprenticeship she went back to her family.
Amelia would only end up spending a year and a half with her family. With all of her siblings still living there, the volume was always loud and having been in such a quiet environment for the last five years she just found herself unable to spend so much time with her loud family. So taking her own loud noise away she moved out and into a small apartment in Larkspur. While the city was loud, she finally had a nice, quiet place to herself.
Or at least she was okay until the Gru came around. At first she didn't think much of it. What kind of alien would choose to bother a small time tattoo artist after all? But once her tattoos started disappearing, sinking into her skin she could only get pissed off. Nothing else had changed, so it had to be their fault right? Her tattoos meant a hell of a lot to her, not to mention they cost a bomb to get!
