In Phlox→ The annual Equinox Festival is being held in Thistle Park; due to the Changes, it appears that the Spring Equinox has somehow landed on April 20th instead of March 20th this year, for reasons still baffling local meteorologists--while the organization committee for the festival has proven disgruntled by the turn of events, they're still passionate about putting on the festival for everyone, as many residents will still take any excuse to get drunk in daylight.
The festivities will feature a picnic barbecue, family-friendly games and activities, flower viewing, and free beer sponsored by Black Bird's.In Acacia→ KBU is hosting a new Spring Fun Run! This all-inclusive walking and running 5k through downtown Acacia was originally raising money for the local children's hospital, but with the Gru's technological donations to the cause rendering the call for funds no longer needed, they're running to raise money for environmental preservation instead--though some sponsors wonder if that, too, will do any good, considering the strange influence of the alien energy already present in Nullville.
Regardless, registration is inexpensive, and all participants receive free t-shirts and snacks for taking part, even in the event of a dnf. Supporters, spectators, and volunteers to help aid runners are also welcomed. In Larkspur→ The traffic is as bad as ever, if not worse due to the aliens' refusal to adhere to basic traffic regulations, and now the abnormally severe ice storms that have been sweeping through it.. Many commuters both trying to get into the city for work, and who live in the city trying to get around, are finding it impossible, and even dangerous, trying to get around by car or taxi.
Local supporters are encouraging residents to try getting on foot (it's healthier!) or by bus (it's good for the environment!), and for commuters to carpool (it's economical!).Around the County→ Printy County State Park is having an Intro to Birding event, offering free binocular rentals and encouraging visitors to spend an afternoon hiking the woods and finding a nice spot to camp and birdwatch. The County Bird is the Dusky Grouse, and it's the perfect time to year to see one! As well as other standard types of birds found in the American northeast, and unique species being spotted that have started to mutate due to nesting in Nullville, that some scientists will pay for photo documentation of.
While there have been those causing trouble as well, they're hoping to draw in some young, fresh blood to the hobby looking to embrace the outdoors. Singles, couples, and families welcome. Delinquents not welcomed, but they don't have the juristiction to turn them away, either.Cru Activity→ A number of booths have been set up on street corners by those actively looking to drive out the Gru, sporting big signs reading "MAKE A CRU! JOIN A CRU! FIGHT THE GRU!" to advertise their rebellion in both the formation of Crus, and for any interested parties to join existing Crus. Whether looking to actively fight back, resist verbally, or just passively seem maybe interested in supporting humans, they're eager to pick up anyone.
