LIKES
- The internet, which sounds like a broad statement, but he's engrossed in social media and staying connected with people. Plus, having any bit of information at the palm of his hand really blows his mind, also there's memes, and jokes, and art, and music and—
- Video producing, writing and directing. His career. Even though it's not what he studied for, Andrew has learned empirically along the way. He actually finds sitting still for hours while editing video to be... Relaxing.
- He loves nature and the beauty of the world, he loves every animal to have ever existed in the face of earth, cultures, people, tastes, books. Anything and everything he can learn and enrich himself from, he loves and adores.
- Fast food, snacks, candy, and coffee. His eating habits are unsightly unhealthy, but he loves garbage, anyway. Willing to debate over which chain fast food restaurant carries the best burgers, fries, etc. Knows employees by their first name in some cases.
- Geeking out! Video games, science fiction, mythology, aliens, paranormal activity. If it’s out of the norm and it brings niches of people together, he’s in. Keeps a collection of manga volumes, comics, vhs, merchandise and figurines at the house he grew up in.
DISLIKES
- People with no sense of humor. They make him uncomfortable because he's a socially awkward person. The presence of uptight, mature and responsible people makes him feel inhibited and restrained.
- Talking about physical appearances. Because of his upbringing, he's self conscious about his image and carries a slight body dysmorphia. Consequently, he doesn't like most photos or shoots of himself.
- Skepticism. Please, how can people be so boring? Expand your horizons! Open your mind to the secrets hidden from the world! Not that he believes everything he reads, but he's not fond of people who violently reject what they’re afraid of.
- Rudeness. Who does, really? Andrew, though, is very sensitive to criticism, which is ironic considering that he lives off of his media presence. He willingly puts himself through undesirable situations because of his low self esteem.
PERSONALITY
Sensible, friendly, eager to please: His heart is warm and inclined to other people. He has a high level of empathy and feels other people's problems as if they were his own, often crying when hearing sad stories, or feeling enormous pride for other people's accomplishments. Andrew seeks out to help and do what he can so other people are happy around him, and has a hard time turning down a favor.
Comedic: The funny jokes guy. He has learned how to cope with life through comedy, making fun of situations and crises, finding joy in small things.
Perseverating: Even if all the odds are against him, he keeps going. Even if he's not number one, he keeps going. Andrew's best quality is his endurance to never give up, which explains how he has kept himself propelled up despite the negativity surrounding him.
Strong moral code: while he's a “sarcastic happy go lucky person”, this doesn't hinder him from having defined moral values that he rules his life by. Andrew has it near impossible to be intentionally mean or take advantage of people. He's the kind of person to feel guilty after cheating in games, or after telling a lie.
Self depreciative: Andrew uses comedy as a coping mechanism, and his repertoire is full of self depreciative jokes and sarcastic commentaries. He doesn't recognize the level of his talents and hard work, suffering of impostor syndrome. In addition to that, Andrew doesn't have a realistic image of himself and thinks that his body and face are bigger and less flattering than they really are.
Foul mouthed, imprudent: He doesn't seem to know when is the right time to shut up. Owner of a pirate's mouth too, he curses every other word naturally, and has had a faux pas more than once with important people due to his lack of tact, making the wrong questions at the wrong moment, to the wrong people.
Gullible, yet untrusting: Andrew trusts the word of the wrong people, while distrusting those who want the best for him. It's not that he doesn't discern good from bad, but he often listens to the wrong advice out of stubbornness, or for people pleasing, while not paying attention to what will solve his problems.
Drifts with the currents: unable to keep a steady career path; he has survived as a content creator for 10 years, while being incapable of keeping a stable job or following the career paths created for him. He drifts with the currents when it comes not just to employment, but also groups of friends, relationships, and hobbies. He's the opposite of committed.
Childish, irresponsible: Andrew disconnects from reality when he doesn't want to face responsibilities. Making jokes and keeping up with memes is a good way to ignore the important things in life, but they don't help him to be the functional adult he should be.

PERSONAL HISTORY
Less known than Charles Printy, there was another paper engineer in the area, Abraham Carter. The Carter Company, local competitor of Printy County’s paper business, had been in the industry for only 20 years less than their rival. But, unlike them, they never sold their work to the best bidder. Abraham Carter’s descendants would forever be number twos in their craft, but they would never, ever, give up or bend their arm.
This takes us to the XX century and Charles Carter, a hard working paper engineer and Phlox resident, who married into riches with his law advisor, Samantha Simmons. The couple had two children, Thomas and Andrew, healthy and hearty young boys with bright futures waiting for them.
Nonetheless, this wouldn’t be the case for the older brother, who showed talent for sports and an affinity for the military life in his pre-teens. His perseverating and charismatic nature earned him the privilege of chasing his dreams, as long as he would carry the name of the family with pride and honor. Thus, all the responsibility for the Carter’s future was ought to rely on young little Andrew, born a decade after his brother.
Andrew had always been inclined to books and science, taught by his father and grandfather to dwell on intellectual activities and stay away from less desirable company. He was a cultured boy taught music, sports, manners, and of course, the ‘art’ of papermaking. The Carter Company’s paper mill, located in the outside roads of Phlox, was the only other playground he knew besides the school’s yard. As a child, he wasn’t sure if he had any real love for his mother’s and father’s career, but it was all he knew. Things would turn out alright, he thought.
In the meantime, he found interest in science fiction, which eventually led him towards different media and stories to explore. Japanese and European animation, cult classics of cinema, etc. It was something he truly enjoyed! Fortunately, his parents weren’t too dissatisfied with his tastes. When the boy brought high scores home, behaved well and helped in the house, he was allowed to get a toy or a book, and that’s how his collection of pop culture memorabilia starter.
Unfortunately, when Andrew misbehaved or made repeated mistakes, he was strictly punished by his father; all the while being pampered and over protected by his mother. She often overfed him less-than-ideal meals for a boy of his age in an attempt to comfort him, and, as expected, this made him find an unhealthy coping mechanism in eating whenever something went wrong. Andrew didn’t have an easy time with peers of his age from the end of elementary school and thorough middle school, because of his body. Laughing along and making jokes about himself seemed to be only things keeping things from getting worse. He was the big funny guy, that was his social place.
It was upon starting his first year of high school, knowing very well that his parents would send him to the best colleges in the west coast, that he made up his mind to lose weight. Scared and disgusted by his body, afraid of humiliating his family by giving a poor image of himself--Who would respect a big and ridiculous looking man in the corporate world?, said his father--Andrew started dieting and exercising every day, sometimes too many hours a day. He had his ups and downs too, winning and losing tens of pounds in intervals, until he finally reached his weight goal by the end of his senior year of highschool.
That’s when he made his youtube channel, where he would document his journey of weight loss, and perhaps make vlogs about the books and movies he found interesting, too. However, it was his sense of humor and earnest love for his hobbies that granted him popularity in the platform. Andrew moved to the west coast for his bachelor and his master’s degrees, all the while documenting his new finds, trivias, reviews, anything he’d get his hands on, he loved it. He didn’t make a lot of friends whitin renown name circles, but he managed to stick around genuine people. It was comforting not to be the only ‘nerdy guy’, but he wondered how much did he have to thank his weight loss to it.
After a total 6 years, Andrew Carter had a masters degree in Business administration, and a humble name on the internet too. He moved back to Printy county to continue his studies in Acacia, where he could find the major he was born to study: a bachelors of science in paper science and engineering. On his last 2 years of college, he entered the workforce as his father’s personal assistant, so he would get acquainted with the job. One day, the paper mill would be under his charge, after all.
But this wasn’t what Andrew wanted to do with his life. It took him 20 years to figure out what his passion truly was.
On his last year of college, Andrew started to underperform at his job. He was late, lazy, and untidy. Stress was biting him and making him burn out. He graduated with his bachelors degree, but that meant nothing to him. Andrew wanted to leave the company and do what he really loved: Producing videos.
He broke the news to his parents, and the results was just as crass as he expected. No amount of convincing and tears from his mother made him sway away from what he wanted. In the heat of the argument, his father made the decision to kick him out of the house, if he was a man old enough to choose his own life, he should be man enough to live on his own, with no aid from his family.
Andrew was on the streets, with only a couple backpacks, his documents and his laptop, the same day that the Gru arrived to Printy county. Walking aimlessly; hunting for cheap apartments for students, he watched the large spaceship fly over the sky and land in the distance. His heart seemed to have stopped, just like time, as a wave of energy hit every nerve of his body. Something he had loved and believed in, had now been proved to be true. Amidst his terrible condition, his spirits had been lifted with the arrival of aliens.
He met with a college friend in Printy, and together, they came up with a coffee startup. Something he enjoyed too! It looked like the one thing that’d give him a living wage, in which he could invest his savings.
Things happened for a reason, and he’d now start a new chapter of his life.
