Before the Gru, Nullville was nothing more than a stretch of highway between the towns--forested on both sides, wholly unremarkable, it simply ended up being where the aliens landed their mothership. Now tagged as Ground Zero for the invasion, and termed Nullville by the County Commission (January 10th, 2018) people are highly encouraged to stay away; the local police force have even taped off a radius to mark its borders, advising that any ground past that spot is unsafe for humankind. It seems that these borders keep expanding farther out every couple of months; but it's hard for townsfolk to tell for sure as the borders are undocumented.
The ship itself radiates the alien energy that's been causing phenomena all across Printy County, but being the source, it is especially heavily concentrated in this area, causing an elevated level of mutation among the life. The trees have twisted and been sucked of their color, the plants have grown to strange shapes and sizes and flowerings, the wildlife has been changed beyond recognition, as if everything was becoming new species entirely.
The atmosphere itself feels very heavy, almost choking, making it difficult for most humans to last being within the area for very long. Local scientists have attempted making ventures inside to study the energy further, but are also wary of the effects it may inflict upon them from long and continued exposure to the heavily present energy. They have been in long-debated argument over whether to send out a bounty to collect samples or data from inside Nullville--trying to decide if the potential harm to the individual is justifiable for the information able to be gathered, or if the risk is too high--which has ultimately caused for no progress to be made on the phenomenon of the area.
