While all the roads and lands beyond the downtown areas are within town borders, most simply consider the stretches of land outside as the County Roads. Hilly and heavily wooded, these areas are secluded and generally make for great camping destinations for those seeking to be one with nature. The roads that run through these areas are billboard-free, quiet, and prone to the occasional deer crossing out onto your lane, much to the anxiety of night drivers everywhere.
While there's no particularly notable locations in these county roads aside from the State Park, there are houses here and there; remote cottages, farmland, small condos on the riverfront... and the occasional worrying-looking shop with no real commercial design to speak of on its exterior, simply sporting a hand-painted sign and a small neon lit box that says "OPEN."
Printy State Park, at least, stands as the jewel of the county. Located in the southwest corner and stretching for over sixty square miles of well-preserved nature, it features hiking, biking, horseback riding, camping, boating, swimming, birding, and other types of outdoor recreational opportunities. The parkland is maintained by the Printy County Historical Society and the Printy County Tourism Association, which trade off depending on their relevancy at any given time. They host a number of facilities, including rental cottages, pavilions, RV parks, and info stops, but they're also known for having a large number vagrants who make a home when no one's around.
