- Karaoke. He likes singing and would often hum a lyric of his favorite song when he is in a good mood.
- Ice cream and gelato. He doesn't make ice cream, but he makes it a point to visit the nearby ice cream shop for a random flavored treat.
- Napping. Who doesn't like naps? Especially after a long day of work or on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
DISLIKES
- Nagging. Doesn't like being nagged at or ordered around too much, he'll do the thing if its urgent, if not then learn when to chill please.
- Exercising or any form of strenuous physical activity. A constant in every New Year's resolution of his but the 'must exercise' routine never sticks.

- Wasting food. If you ordered it, you eat it, all of it.

PERSONALITY
Passive, Reserved, Logical, Efficient, Forthright, Indifferent, Jaded
Phil is passionate about desserts and baking in general. He can pour himself over making and decorating cakes and pastries for hours; the smell of freshly baked goods and seeing other people enjoy his food fills him with short-lived gratification. He prides himself in perfecting the craft and takes every little detail, every single flower fondant on that twelve tier wedding cake seriously.
Other than working in the kitchen, he exerts minimal energy on other activities. He isn't exactly lazy, but he is easily exhausted when forced to do stuff he isn't passionate about, which is everything other than baking. He still does what he's told to do, but he does it quickly to rid of it as soon as possible, making him highly efficient. Phil doesn't go out of his way to do extra work that doesn't benefit him. He doesn't involve himself in other people's problems as much as possible, and would rather step away from trouble unless asked for help. Phil is also blunt, painting himself as a cold person at first glance, although anyone who'd dip their toes into getting to know him better would say he just doesn't like beating around the bush for too long. Due to an experience, he believes in logic over emotions and bases most of his decisions over what he knows is right, and not what he feels is right; often taking the safer path when a fork in the road shows itself.
He is mostly indifferent towards other people, aloof when forced into a crowd. Despite his obvious apathetic traits, he genuinely cares for his loved ones, albeit there's only a few of them, his sister included. It may take a while for him to truly connect with a new acquaintance but when it does happen, he'd go to great lengths to protect and care for them. He isn't afraid to speak out his feelings, and would gladly let anyone know they are precious to him, or otherwise. He complies to rules and standards of law, only because it is the choice with less resistance. At the moment, he lacks conviction, and the drive to push himself forward to achieving greater heights in his career.

- He didn't have a stable job for half a year, he did small time catering services and even applied for a fastfood chain position at 23. He was over qualified and did not get the job.
- At 24, he was recruited by an old friend of his grandmother's to work as a second pastry chef at a cafe in Acacia Town, where he works and lives currently.
PERSONAL HISTORY
Phil lived a fairly normal life as a child. Raised well enough by his grandparents because his mom and dad we're busy with work, a necessity that he understood completely and doesn't hold any grudge or ill thoughts for his parents; he knew they we're doing it to sustain their needs. His grandmother had been the one to take care of him the most as he grew up. Spoiled but not overly, he knows his limits and when to say his please and thank you's. His love for cooking and baking stemmed from the teachings of his grandmother who taught him the ways inside the kitchen at a young age. In high school, he learned to enjoy other activities such as singing and going out on dates, but none gave him as much joy as he did when he was in the kitchen.
And so, it was obvious he'd take Culinary Arts as a degree after high school. College was as life draining to any other person as it was to Phil. He did well enough to meet high marks, all of which he'd happily show off to his grandma at Printy County, to whom he dedicated his graduation honors for. Due to his school's reputation, he was able to get a job at a four star restaurant in New York but dealing with the stress and anxiety of keeping up with the performance in a busy kitchen made him decide to quit after a year. He then started a small catering service that didn't do well in the long run, plummeting his account to the negatives. Lost and confused, the news of his grandma's funeral was a huge blow to top it all off. It was the point in his life where it felt like everything came crashing down on him and his motivations sunk even lower. Gathering all the strength that's left in him, he was eventually able to cope with the loss but it left him feeling jaded and uninspired, a feeling that stayed with him up til now even though he tells his sister that he was alright.
Fortunately, a few months after his grandmother's death, an old friend of hers had invited Phil to work for him in his café. His grandma had apparently been bugging the old man to let his grandson work for him for years now as she was very proud of Phil's food. The old man says it's the least he could do in her memory but he'd still kick him out if he didn't live up to his high expectations. Knowing that this was what his grandmother desired (and because he didn't have anything else to do back then), Phil took the job without question and has been doing well with making pastries. He is somewhat content with his life up until now, but has lately been wondering if he could do more than what he has achieved, maybe get into a relationship again or take another business venture... but before he could venture any deeper, thoughts of failure keep looming on the back of his head every time. "Maybe I'm just having an extended mid-life crisis...I wish there was something new?"
The Gru's arrival came off as initially alarming to him, after all who wouldn't be concerned? He was unsure of how to deal with it but since they had declared they were not out to invade the world, he had learned to shrug the situation off thinking that if it sends more paying customers to the shop and they don't detriment his daily life, then it doesn't matter much at all.
EXTRAS
- Has an instagram account where he posts pictures of desserts he made, it has a humble following of about 500.
- Was part of a band in highschool as the vocal lead, they only made one song for a contest and quickly disbanded after 8 months (some say the drummer was arrested for thievery, some say the guitarist got someone knocked up).
- A tad embarrassed about it and so he keeps it to himself but his favorite solo artist is Shania Twain. He has had the longest crush on her when he was still in his teens. He still loves her 'From this Moment On' music video.
- Has had four ex girlfriends, most of which thought he became too detached in the relationship.
- Goes to his sisters salon in Larkspur every month for a trim and a shave. The hair coloring is an unwanted service but his sister insists on having him dye his hair (with no extra charge on top of the whole thing being free!) so he doesn't look all too boring for the ladies. So far he has had 3 shades, and 2 highlight colors in the record.
- Original haircolor is Tan/Honey Brown. His roots as well as his beard runs a darker, deeper brown color.
- Lives alone in an apartment where it would benefit him to share the place with a roommate (anyone wanna be roomies?).
- Rides a bicycle to work since the cafe is a few blocks and walking distance away from where his apartment is.
- Is conscious about the scar on his face, he borrows concealer when he knows photos are needed to be taken but otherwise, on a normal day, he lets it be. He usually stays in the kitchen and doesn't mingle with customers unless he needs to.
- Often seen at a farmer's market or the grocery. His fridge is never without food and he will cook for you if you're welcomed in his apartment.
