- [ Cats ] - She likes animals in general, but cats hold a special place in her heart.
- [ Coffee ] - She absolutely needs it to function when she wakes up. She can be pretty grouchy until she downs one or two cups. Commonly drinks it black.
- [ Spicy foods ] - The spicier the better in her opinion.
- [ Horror movies ] - Nothing like a good scary movie!
DISLIKES
- [ Sweets ] - She's ok with subtle sweetness and naturally sweet fruits, but she doesn't like when things contain a ton of sugar.
- [ Energy Drinks ] - Energy drinks do provide a nice little boost, but a lot of them contain too much sugar for her liking.
- [ Most Sodas ] - Again, too much sugar.
- [ Silence ] - It's awkward between people, and it's actually distracting on it's own? She can't describe it well, but she just prefers to have some sort of music or background noise on the go.
- [ Mornings ] - They are absolutely the worst. Nicola thrives more in afternoon and evenings.
PERSONALITY
At first glance, Nicola can come off as a slightly jaded individual. Often times she will appear apathetic and seemingly uninterested in her surroundings; however, this isn't exactly the case. Nicola is an observer, and she's extremely perceptive to the world around her. She's not necessarily the unfriendly sort, but her distant disposition and blunt words often lead people to believe otherwise. Nicola doesn't really put all of herself out there with new people, requiring a little time before she starts coming out of her shell, but she's not extremely difficult to win over. She's more open and easy going once she makes a friendly connection with someone, and is rather attentive to these people- silently looking out for them.
She might not seem as such, but Nicola is a compassionate person under her usual front, and she's got a pretty big conscience. This tends to surface when her lack of a filter can unintentionally hurt or offend others. Though she can be quiet, she's not at all shy and will tell it like it is. While this can be one of her positive qualities, it's not always her best. She can be pretty feisty when not in the best of moods, and with her sarcastic/sassy mouth, it's pretty easy to take her words out of construct on occasion. Words that mean no harm, can come off pretty harsh, and she might not catch it immediately. She's not above apologizing when she knows she's wrong though.
She values her independence and prefers to live her life on her own terms. Aside from those she's close to, she doesn't really care about the opinions of others. While the words of others can occasionally hurt, she doesn't make a huge deal of it. Most comments directed toward herself tend to bounce right off, but she draws the line when you choose to target someone she's particularly close to. Talk about her all you want, but she can be pretty savage herself when her loved ones are brought into the line of fire.

PERSONAL HISTORY
Nicola grew up in the Bronx borough of New York City, raised by her single mother, Carina Ferro. Her parents were never married, and her biological father left the picture when his and her mother's relationship fell apart. He didn't want to take responsibility for his own child, nor did he want to remain tied down to a woman he no longer loved. So, the man disappeared and left Nicola and her mother to face the world alone. Her mother had never truly been on her own at all, and having a child she wasn't really ready for only added on to the sudden stress. However, her mother tried to remain calm and did her absolute best for her daughter's sake. As a new and inexperienced mother, mistakes were definitely made. But, with the support and guidance of Carina's family, the two made it through that tough time alright.
Despite her grandparents offering Nicola and her mother a place in their family home, the family of two continued to live in their tiny apartment. It was enough space for the both of them, and her mother didn't wish to burden her family- who already lived in a pretty crowded house. Her mother juggled two jobs to support the two of them and pay the bills, but at the very least, the two were in a more stable place in life than they previously were. Things were still pretty hard every now and then, but they got by.
At the earliest age of independence, Nicola gradually started learning how to take care of herself. With her mother working as much as she did, there were often nights where the woman would pass out as soon as she got home; much too exhausted to take another conscious step. Nicola wasn't always alone, however, as her uncle Dante, her mother's older brother, was always just around the corner to come lend a hand when truly needed. Dante was the kind of man who looked out for his own flesh and blood, and he acted as something of a father figure in Nicola's life. He was a person she really looked up to.
Her uncle was the one who first introduced her to music. He was a huge fan of rock and roll and also a pretty passionate metal head. His musical tastes truly resonated with Nicola- even at such a young age. And as soon as she could hold a guitar, her uncle was teaching her how to play. She stuck with it, and music quickly became a pretty big part of her life. Unfortunately it wasn't enough to keep her out of trouble as she grew older.
Like many young teens, Nicola struggled with her own self discovery when she entered this weird and confusing chapter of her life. She didn't know where exactly she fit in within society at first, and ended up running within various different circles of friends; some of which were not the best of influences. Her encounters with these friends began after her uncle moved to Printy County. Though he kept in touch and checked in on her and her mother often, Nicola still felt a little lost without him around. Not wanting to trouble her working mother with her personal teenage struggles, she looked to others for guidance- and this was probably a mistake, given those she would turn to.
While some of her friends weren't exactly that bad, the rest didn't set the best example for the teenage girl. She got into a lot of trouble with these people and committed her fair share of delinquent acts with their encouragement to do so. She was no stranger to vandalism, trespassing, and even property damage; all things she's not exactly proud of nowadays. She also regrets the trouble it caused her mother, but back then it was all a part of that sweet sweet thrill she craved.
In her later teenage years, as she started inching closer to adulthood, Nicola began to straighten up. She had went through a fall out with some of her not so well meaning friends, and started hanging out with better people. She eventually graduated high school, but after that, she wasn't quite too sure what she wanted to do with her life. She really wanted to pursue something in music; however, when her last band situation didn't quite work out, she found herself a little lost again.
A year after her graduation, Nicola's mother married a man she had been dating for two years. He was a good man who treated her mother well, and it was when he offered them both a home under his own roof that Nicola decided that it was about time she tried to make it on her own. Respectfully declining her step-father's offer to live with him and her mother, Nicola parted ways with them. She moved in with a roommate in another apartment for the first six months on her own, but after discussing the possibility of a job at a music shop her uncle ran in the city of Larkspur in Printy County, Nicola seriously started to consider moving out of state. Knowing her uncle, it would've been a stable job for her and that was something she really needed. Giving the job opportunity some thought, she decided to make the move. She got an apartment in Larkspur, settled into her job at the music shop, and fell into a pretty regular routine of living. Life in Printy County quickly became normal for her, but that normality was quickly shaken up a bit once the Gru invaded. She was a little unsure of the alien invaders at first, but since they didn't appear to have any ill intent toward mankind, she's been pretty open to accepting earth's new settlers.
