PERSONALITY
logical | articulate | considerate | honest | impatient | stiff | oblivious
To summarise, Lux is what one may call “difficult”. For many, it is hard to find a way to justify keeping him around due to just how difficult he may be. However, there are still things that can be appreciated from Lux. Maybe.
The most important and apparent trait to Lux that must be explained is his logical stances on all issues. Lux is not one for emotion or needless drama or whiny prattle (at least, that’s what he tells most). He views his issues in a reasonable light, as well as the issues of others, indicative that he views everything fairly. Though Lux holds a pompous air which views him as a condescending person, it is less a defining character trait than it is a natural facial expression and way of speech. Needless to say, Lux’s speech is articulate and refined. Every compliment, insult and bit of information that escapes his mouth is spoken in such a logical and perfectly formed way that makes it easy for others to understand what he’s saying and what he intends to say. However, Lux is still capable of being a considerate person. While he finds that truth and logic are most important in overcoming trivial social issues, Lux is aware of some social cues when needed. That being said, he expresses concern for others when necessary, particularly in respect of one’s health or wellbeing.
Nevertheless, Lux is brutally honest. Raised as a boy who saw little of the outside word for most of his childhood, he still finds it fairly difficult to display tact when it comes to dealing with others. His honesty comes as a painful jab from a newly polished butcher’s knife, painful yet extremely clean. It may come as a blessing to others, that Lux will speak the truth and nothing but the truth, his words not riddled with a sugar coat or a fiery tongue. Just words spoken as black-and-white fine print as though one were reading a medical report.
Yet, it comes to show that Lux can be impatient when conversing with those who believe contrarily to what he holds to be the truth or as common knowledge. While one may argue that Lux’s isolation is as a result of his upbringing, truthfully, it is also isolation that is self-imposed by Lux himself, due to his inability to be patient with his fellow human peers. While he does listen to the opinions and arguments of others in order to hopefully shape his own worldview, Lux cannot accept hardheadedness or (what he sees as) idiocy from others. It’s clear to say that Lux is a very stiff person. Humor does not come easily to him, from the giving or the receiving end. That’s not to say he doesn’t particularly enjoy humor, it is merely that he can’t seem to understand most modern humor. Moreover, he is the last person one would go to for emotional support or comfort. Like a walking encyclopedia, he lacks the warmth or the sympathy one would normally expect from a standard, caring human being. Thus, Lux can be fairly oblivious. As aforementioned, Lux does not understand social cues in a casual sense. He can handle conversation in a business-like manner, however that is where his understanding stops. He speaks to most in the same way he speaks to other people in the workplace. Detached, polite, but without any goal to actually get along with others. It may be difficult as hell to speak to Lux, but mostly because it’s difficult to understand his emotions.

PERSONAL HISTORY
The first and most important thing to note in Lux’s life is that his family, the Princetons, Wolfgangs, Starlings and the rest of them - they love their holidays.
More importantly, they enjoyed a lovely family gathering in a family-owned hotel in Printy County during the winter once every year.
Lux, of course, was no exception to these extravagant gatherings and was subjected to the exaggerated anecdotes from uncles and aunties about their respective children, as they grew up. So it was sufficient to say that Lux was no stranger to Printy County.
However in the beginning, it would have been the last place on Earth that he ever thought about living in, let alone think about.
Lux London Princeton was born in the clean countryside of Germany, to Dominic Princeton and Sofia Wolfgang Princeton. He was born fragile and extremely susceptible to illnesses and ailments alike, with the difficulty of raising him remaining an apparent fear amongst his relatives.
But with their heads high, his parents raised him with great care and love. For a few years, he lived in Franconia, Germany, on a hill where the sun shone gently against the cool alabaster stone of the family villa. At least once every season, his parents travelled to England and the United States, specifically Printy County, for the purposes of work and so, Lux stayed under the care of his uncle. As the trips became more frequent, his parents worried that Lux would grow up without them.
So it brings us to where we began.
At the age of 6, Lux moved to California.
Lux and his parents lived permanently in a grand home owned by his relatives. While they still travelled, it was less frequent. However, Lux’s health still became an apparent issue. He attended a prestiged and private academy during his early elementary years.
Unfortunately, Lux’s health soon deteriorated due to the change in location, especially due to the extreme contrast between the cleanliness of his previous home and the suffocating nature of the city.
At a young age, Lux was pulled out of elementary school and instead, his parents opted for home-schooling. For the following years in Lux’s childhood, he found himself studying under a reputable tutor, who previously worked in palliative care and, at the time, worked as a paediatrician.
During these years, Lux did what any child would do when imprisoned in their own home. He took up gardening and made use of an old greenhouse that was left neglected in the backyard, and read books upon books upon books. During these years, he did not leave the house unless necessary. At a young age, Lux had by his side, a fluffy white cat, a growing gardenia, and the occasional neighbourhood boy trying to climb into his window.
Up to the start of high school, Lux remained home-schooled. At this point, Lux’s health had improved. Though it had not been significant improvement, it was enough to allow him to leave the house more frequently. He found himself incapable of speaking to others, aside from what is deemed proper etiquette in front of high-class businessmen, entrepreneurs and other high-waged, high-nosed individuals which made themselves tirelessly apparent in every Princeton family gathering.
It’s safe to say, he did not have many friends.
He studied, he graduated and went straight to university, with the intent of training to become a paediatrician. While he disliked most, Lux’s own history convinced him, of course, that he disliked children … just a bit less.
Soon, he moved out and to Printy County without the overbearing presence of his family and relatives.
By the present day, the looming threat growing from the alien invasion became increasingly apparent to the human race.
But Lux didn’t really see much. The boy didn’t even like most humans, so what were a few aliens to him? The even claimed to have medical advancements, so Lux had little to no complaints to such an intrusion.
