LIKES
✧Horror Games - horror movies suck, but games at least have plot, and what internet user doesn't try their hand at horror games after seeing a let's player scream and cry over one? They're just so much fun
✧Romantic Comedies - listen, they're grossly romantic and have bad plots and of course they're cliché, but they have happy endings and sometimes they're really cute
✧Vaporwave - it started out as an ironic interest and then became unironic very fast and she didn’t know when that happened, but it did
✧Tea - tea is definitely nice when it’s one of the few caffeinated things you’re allowed to have because your family is terrified you’re going to stain your teeth from coffee. As if tea won’t
✧Tights - its not the appearance they give or the fashion of them. You know that really good feeling you get when you get into a bed with fluffy sheets and a comforter while wearing tights and everything is the epitome of soft? It's that
✧The Mistake Waltz - some of the most fun she's had during a performance
✧The Rubies - definitely the most fun she's ever had during a performance, but she had to practically beg to be in Rubies instead of Diamonds
DISLIKES
✧Roses - really getting sick of being compared to it's delicate-ness or whatever. Plus having them thrown at you or given to you after performances...not to be ungrateful, but like...please, they don't even smell good
✧Lionfish - ok its not exactly the fish she dislikes, more like when people buy them and then decide they don't want them and dump them in a part of the ocean they don't belong; they're an invasive species! stop that!
✧Bright Lights - yeah, yeah, ironic cause of the spotlight thing, but bright lights hurt her eyes and she's had to grin and bear it through ballet for years, so if theres any chance to not have to endure them outside of practice or performance, that'd be fantastic thanks
✧Dolls - they're fucking creepy and unsettling. That's all
✧Chocolate - just really not a fan, dark chocolate's too bitter, milk chocolate's too sweet, white chocolate's just weird
✧Being told what to do/what not to do - whether it's for her or her mother's appearance, or because something "isn't lady-like," these are probably the things Lacy despises the most
✧The Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy - cause if she has to perform in The Nutcracker one more FUCKING TIME-
PERSONALITY
Snarky | Optimistic | Rebellious | Confident | Spiteful | Frustrated
From appearances alone, Lacy looks to be the type that one would regard as innocent and pure of heart, with the forced dress and lifestyle that her mother has pushed upon her. Lacy herself is, of course, neither of these, with a history of being spiteful to her instructors and mom alike, and cold to her father, when he’s even around.
Irritation and bitterness are things that come to her most often, but despite this, she at least attempts to appear positive; maybe it’s from all of the times it’s been drilled into her head to ”smile for the audience,” but regardless, the combination of dissatisfaction and keeping up appearances, generally makes her look like a smartass. It doesn't help that most interactions she has with strangers tends to be questions regarding her..disorder. It certainly doesn't feel like a disorder, after all. So, being treated like a science experiment or an oddity to the general public every time she leaves the house isn't exactly the nicest experience, and Lacy isn’t afraid to voice this.
In spite of all of this, to those that take the time to listen to and befriend her, they'll find Lacy is optimistic in her capabilities, and maybe a little too sure of herself in things that she isn't capable of as well. But even in failure, she is determined to keep trying and succeed, if nothing else. And for those friends of hers, her typical exterior falls away almost instantly in place of the attitude of your typical happy, if not mischievous, young girl. When not under the supervision of those who force who to do this and that, she tends to stretch her legs a bit too much and push for wilder ideas of teenage rebellion, and has always longed for the idea of going out partying and doing something to piss off her mom.
BIOGRAPHY
✧The only child of a strict and hovering mother who has decided to live vicariously through her, and a distant father who seems to throw himself into his work and stay overtime so as to avoid said mother
✧Grew up and lives in Acacia; still lives with her parents, and commutes to Phlox to attend classes at the Phlox City Ballet
✧Has usually spent her free time as a shut in: playing video games, watching youtube videos, shoving herself into social media that her parent's have no idea about or are allowed to follow
✧With the recent introduction of new powers and with some people developing strange appearances, including herself, she's not sure whether to feel better about going out in the open or worse. On one hand, everyone's weird now, so really, nobody's weird, but at the same time, she doesn't want to risk being asked about the new sharp teeth and weird pupils.
PERSONAL HISTORY
When Joanne and Thomas Rossander were first handed their daughter, they were, initially, aghast, until learning that children with albinism suffer generally few negative side effects or symptoms of the disorder. Further research proved that their daughter would likely have a wonderful feature as a beautiful person, and taking full advantage of this, Lacy's name was given to her, along with the first forceful push on her life and the direction it would take.
From there it was a series of experimental classes, from jazz to piano to baton to violin, until finally settling on ballet at the age of 8, where Lacy enjoyed herself and the dance itself. Of course, en pointe came next, around the same time that elementary school bullying became far more prevalent. As Lacy took to the spotlight, she shied away from her peers and was soon withdrawn from school altogether in place of homeschooling.
Dance classes and the internet were her only way of socialization throughout middle school, and a love of webkinz' online world eventually turned into posting in forums, creating secret social media accounts, and forming a number of online friendships where nobody had to know she was different.
With the end of middle school came the introduction of public school again, and Lacy found herself hiding even more than before online. Social stigma hit her like a freight train when surrounded by teenagers with nothing else to do but gossip. Her mother, similarly, only gave advice in the way of telling her how to dress to best fit in with the students around her, or which teens she should talk to, because they're the children of "so-and-so." Restrictions in the form of diet, dress, and demeanor. Lacy was reaching a breaking point, with the addition of stress from potential open auditions from ballet companies.
Lacy skipped class and made failing grades for the first time in her life during sophomore year. And she loved it. Maybe not the grades. But the thrill of skirting her responsibilities was the best feeling she'd ever had. It was a decision she'd made without the advice or guidance of someone else, a decision that would surely make someone mad, but that only made her feel better somehow. Through small acts of deviation and one to two friends, if you could even call them that, she managed to force her way through highschool, but ultimately did not succeed in any of her auditions, failing to sign any contracts with ballet companies, and promptly became a shut-in once more.
When the Gru arrived, Lacy had begun attending classes at the Phlox City Ballet in which her mother intends for her to work towards another audition with said company; even going so far as to have Lacy undergo a physical exam when the changes the Gru caused kicked in, only asking if she would still be alright to perform. With the entire county of Printy seeming to change and take on odd abilities and appearances, Lacy's unsure whether to feel more comfortable going out now or more wary. But at least people have stopped asking her as many questions about her albinism?
