PERSONALITY
Always found cheerfully cruising on his motorbike on the hunt for thrill, Felix Ducati seems to be living the life in the moment with very little going on in his mind. An outraging optimist, he always seems to find the silver lining even in the darkest and stormiest of clouds and can laugh his way through the most arduous of situations. Though he doesn’t impose on others to take a similar laid-back approach to life, he does believe that anyone can use some time to relax instead of being stressed over whatever they are being stressed about, causing him to drag anyone into having a fun time. Having a passion in spreading smiles, he is always goofily flirty, believing that it’s the easiest way to bring a smile to anyone.
However, this sunny disposition and carefree lifestyle are in fact a coping mechanism for Felix to endure and sometimes escape the rut he seems to be stuck in. He relentlessly chases for excitement, for the rush of dopamine to carry him away from agonizing thoughts that are ready to crush him the moment he stops. Being the eldest sibling, he had to be strong and optimistic, so he plastered a dumb smile on his face in hopes that it wouldn’t crumble into a pathetic mess--which it shouldn’t anyways when other people probably have it much worse right? Luckily at this point, his muscles probably have stiffened into that shape.
Despite his amicable and sociable attitude, Felix always seems to keep a certain line of emotional distance from others. From his experiences, it’s best to assume that humans are weak and will easily betray; it’s best to have fun and connect on a superficial level, but never anything more. While Felix isolates himself from getting emotionally invested in others, if you happen to make it into his close bubble (which currently only consists of his family), he will do whatever it takes for you to achieve whatever you wish and deserve even if it meant putting aside his own aspirations. It may seem self-sacrificing at a glance, but there is something less stressful about cheering for others’ success rather than striving your own. Felix has a tendency to self-handicap: avoiding effort so that potential failure doesn’t hurt his self-esteem. He purposely plays dumb, convincing others and himself that it’s unlikely for him to achieve anything, and if he did, it would just be a pleasant surprise.

PERSONAL HISTORY
The easiest way to stop a crying baby Felix Ducati was to take him on a ride. Not on a stroller or a bicycle, but on big scraps of metal with booming engines. The roaring of the engines was always coupled with the cheerful laughter of baby Felix. His fascination towards riding vehicles quickly fostered as he had a talented engineer as a father who developed a groundbreaking technology for engines of motor vehicles. Rather than dedicating that invention to the firm he had been working for in Italy, Felix’s father was allured to the limelight of the American dream; having successful friends in the same industry in the United States added on top of the fact that Felix’s mother, Michelle was from the US, the Ducati family left Rome for a new home in Boston. Felix’s obsession over vehicles skyrocketed during his first flight experience. The plane of course intrigued him, but what blew his mind was when his father told him that there were faster and bigger pieces of metal--pieces of metal that can take people to outer space. Staring out at the small plane window, 4-year-old Felix dreamed of the scenery out of a space rocket. Though the transition from Europe to the USA wasn’t the easiest and there was a language barrier, it was minuscule compared to young Felix’s curiosity and go-getter attitude. With starry-eyes longing for the day to see actual stars much closer up, he had good grades throughout his education in Boston.
The journey to space seemed steady until a major problem arose, causing the rapid descent of Felix’s and the Ducati family’s life. His father had entrusted the blueprints of his work and many of the administrative processes of the company to his right-hand man, who in turn, sold away the blueprint and its rights to a major firm and taking all the profit to himself. No longer able to manufacture engines, the company had no choice but to close down. The Ducati family suffered monumental amounts of debt, having to abandon their house and business in Boston. Looking for a more affordable living area, the family moved to Printy County. Cozy was probably the most pleasant word to describe their “new” house in Phlox Town. Stefano continued his work as a mechanical engineer in Larkspur City while Michelle picked up an office job along with other part-time jobs to keep the house running.
Although the lifestyle was much harsher than when they were in Boston, Felix always found ways to enjoy life. It was only natural for him to be optimistic when his father seemed so calm and his mother being so supportive--though they were probably just trying to stay collected, not wanting to worry the children and hinder them from experiencing a carefree time of youth. With his bubbly personality, he easily made friends and even made a girlfriend in high school. And with a cute sweetheart, everything seemed rosier. However, it had become difficult to sustain the growing Ducatis just with two working parents, and Felix made the decision to dropout of high school to work full-time to support his family. His own dream would be forever out of his reach, but it already seemed like a light year away compared to the chances that his siblings would succeed over him. His siblings were much more talented in his eyes: Elena with a unparalleled witty mind winning her any debates that come across her way, Nicolo with a natural finesse in sports, and even little Mia who exhibited a clear talent in visual arts.
Felix felt confident in this decision or convinced himself that it was a good one, but his surroundings proved otherwise. His highschool sweetheart dumped him the moment she found out that he was dropping out of high school. A vacant hole opened deep inside of him. In the end, people were superficial and easily broke ties. He had donned the mask of the laughing fool ever since he dropped out to persuade himself and others that he was actually inadequate to continue on with his education or to even deserve a girlfriend. It felt easier on him believing that he never had what it takes to achieve his own dreams of becoming an astronaut. Though the desire of becoming one resurfaced from time to time, he convinced himself out of it by reminding himself that he shouldn’t burden his family with costs to chase a dream with very little odds of success.
From then on, he lived a superficial and empty life, endlessly meandering on his motorbike as if to find something to fill up the hollow hole in his chest. However, his escapist and detached outlook on life was shook violently when outer space decided to come to him instead. For the first time in years, he felt hopeful as the distant stars seemed almost palpable. Perhaps these aliens can help him get a ticket outside of this planet that made him so hollow. The luminous, green light had eerily lightened up a road for him: a road perhaps to regain true optimism and faith in humanity. Or possibly to something quite the opposite.
